Terms of Use

By creating an account, joining a kitty group, or viewing a group page on The Kitty Club (“the Platform”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. A group Admin may add a non-account member (e.g. a minor family member) for display purposes only, with appropriate parental/guardian consent — see our Privacy Policy.

The Kitty Club is a tool to help organise Indian kitty party groups — host rotation, self-reported payment tracking, event planning, polls, games, guest invites, and photo memories. It is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

You log in via a one-time password sent to your phone number or email — we do not store passwords. You are responsible for keeping access to that phone number or email secure, and for all activity under your account.

Group pages can be viewed by anyone holding the group’s join link, without logging in, by design — see Section 6 of our Privacy Policy for what that means for visibility of your group’s information.

The Kitty Club does not collect, hold, custody, or transmit money on behalf of any user or group. The Platform only (a) lets members self-report whether a contribution was paid in cash, and (b) generates a UPI deep link that opens a member’s own UPI app with an amount pre-filled, after which the transfer happens directly between bank accounts via that member’s UPI provider. We are not responsible for, and have no visibility into, whether any actual payment was made, received, or correctly recorded. Disputes about money between group members are solely between those members. If a future Premium tier integrates a payment gateway (e.g. Razorpay) for subscription fees, that processor’s own terms will separately govern that transaction.

You retain ownership of photos, videos, notes, and other content you upload. By uploading content to a group, you grant other members of that group (and anyone holding the join link, per Section 5) a license to view it within the app. You are responsible for having the right to share any content you upload, including the consent of anyone shown in a photo or video.

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• Upload unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or sexually explicit content, particularly involving minors.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a group.
• Attempt to access another group’s data without authorisation, or interfere with the Platform’s normal operation.
• Use the Platform for any purpose that violates applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Each group has one Initiator and may have multiple Admins, with the permissions described in-app. Initiators and Admins are responsible for the accuracy of group rules, who they invite, and how they use member data within the group. The Platform is not a party to, and assumes no liability for, disputes between group members.

The Kitty Club name, logo, and Platform design are the property of [Legal Entity Name] or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our trademarks or branding beyond using the Platform as intended.

The Platform integrates with WhatsApp (for sharing messages you initiate), Supabase (data storage), and may in the future integrate Razorpay or similar payment gateways. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, which we encourage you to review.

The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted/error-free operation. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any self-reported payment status, host rotation record, or other user-entered data.

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, [Legal Entity Name] shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of money, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform — including but not limited to disputes over kitty fund contributions, since the Platform never holds or processes those funds.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless [Legal Entity Name] from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Platform.

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, including the Acceptable Use section above.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to that, any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at [City], India. We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified within the app; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
